Two New York City Stoneware Advertising Jars, Northeastern U.S. origin, 19th century, both of similar cylindrical form, a salt-glazed example with desirable Wall Street advertising, impressed "A. KEMP / GROCER / 116 WALL ST N YORK", paired with an Albany-slip-glazed example, impressed "J. & I.E. TRIPPE / 90 & 92 MAIDEN LANE / NEW YORK". Smaller jar with base broken into two pieces and reglued. Larger jar in excellent condition with some wear to inner rim where a lid would rest. H (of smaller jar) 7 1/4".
