Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "NORTON & FENTON / East Bennington, Vt", circa 1845, cylindrical jug with semi-rounded spout, the front decorated with a finely-brushed design of three flower blossoms emanating from a central stem. Brushed cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Two in-the-firing chips (contact marks) to surface. A few tiny base nicks. A short, faint line at base, probably in-the-firing. Some in-the-firing crazing to right shoulder area.
