One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Elaborate Cobalt Stripe Decoration, Stenciled "Samuel Booker / Louisville, Ky.", Western PA origin, circa 1875, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, decorated a heavy straight and wavy stripe decoration above and below Samuel Booker merchant stenciling. Graduated vertical stripes flank the stenciled inscription, and stylized floral stenciling appears at its center. Excellent condition with some light wear on interior of rim.
