Five-Gallon Double-Handled Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "WHITES UTICA", New York State origin, circa 1865, cylindrical jug with semi-squared spout and applied strap handles, decorated with a brushed and slip-trailed flowering plant design featuring circular blossoms. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. An 8 3/4" inverted T-shaped crack extending from base on reverse. Otherwise excellent condition.
