Rare Presentation Redware Plate with Sgraffito Eagle Decoration, Inscribed "1930 / Anna McAllister", attributed to Jacob Medinger, Limerick Township, Montgomery County, PA, 1930, with coggled edge, the interior decorated with streaks of green and brown over a yellow slip ground, featuring a sgraffito design of a Federal eagle holding a banner in its beak and clutching olive branches in its talons. Incised "1930 / Anna McAllister" to border. Clear lead overglaze. Provenance: A fresh to-the-market example, collected several decades ago in Pennsylvania. Excellent condition with minor edge wear and a 3/8" in-the-firing separation to edge. Diameter 8".
