Rare Redware Plate with Sgraffito Dog's Head Decoration, attributed to Jacob Medinger, Limerick Township, Montgomery County, PA, circa 1930, with coggled edge, the interior decorated with streaks of green and brown over yellow slip, featuring a well-detailed sgraffito design of a dog's head with collar under a clear lead glaze. Highly-desirable subject matter, rare for this maker. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, collected many decades ago in Pennsylvania. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with minor edge wear and a 1/2" glazed-over line from edge. Diameter 8 3/4".
