Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "F.J. CAIRE / Huntington, / L.I.", circa 1854-1863, squat-shaped jug with semi-squared spout, decorated with brushed tulip with curved stem, accented with heavy spots and a swag above. Provenance: Donald Matties Collection. Good decoration and form. Very nice condition with a hairline through handle, some streaks of staining, a very minor glazed-over nick to spout, and a faint 1/2" line at base.
