Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Drape Decoration, New Jersey origin, circa 1820, ovoid jug with heavily-tooled spout, decorated with a brushed drape-and-tassel motif at the shoulder. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Horizontal hairline through middle of handle. A tight 6" vertical crack on reverse, continuing 1 1/2" onto underside. Iron pings to surface. Some staining to surface, primarily at base.
