One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "L. LEHMAN & CO. / WEST 12TH ST. N Y", circa 1860, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, flared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a daisy plant featuring three blossoms. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. A 7/8" rim chip on reverse. Some staining to surface. A short, in-the-firing surface crack at base, not visible on interior. A short glazed-over line on interior of rim, not visible on exterior. Wear to inner rim where a lid would rest. Interior base with some wear and an iron ping.
