Extremely Rare Stoneware Pickles Jar with Astoria, Long Island, New York Advertising, New York State origin, circa 1875, half-gallon, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and flared rim, impressed with the cobalt-highlighted advertising "PICKELS PREPARED / BY PRYER BROS / ASTORIA LI". Extremely rare Long Island advertising with desirable subject matter. Includes salt-glazed lid. Long spider lines to right side of jar. Lid with in-the-firing lines, an in-the-firing contact mark to edge, and a tiny nick. H 7 3/8".
