Glazed Redware Canning Jar, Stamped "JOHN BELL," Waynesboro, PA origin, circa 1840-1880, with footed base, rounded shoulder, and slightly-flared rim with interior designed to hold a lid, the surface covered in a clear lead glaze over a yellow ground. Impressed John Bell maker's mark on underside. A 1 1/2" X 1 3/4" glaze flaw at base, which occurred in the firing. Some typical minor rim wear. H 7 1/2".
