Rare Two-Gallon Stoneware Batter Pail with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, Stamped "T.G. DAUB / EASTON, PA", late 19th century, ovoid form with tubular pouring spout and original wire-and-wood bail handle, decorated with a heavy foliate brushwork surrounding the base of the spout and highlights to the ears. Shoulder impressed with the maker's mark of Theodore Gustav Daub above a two-gallon capacity mark. Excellent form, potted in an unusually large size. Tiny chipping around shoulder molding. A 1 1/4" flake to reverse side of ear. A tiny nick and light wear to handle at base on reverse. H 10 1/4".
