One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "H B PFALTZGRAFF / YORK PA", circa 1870-1889, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and flattened rim, decorated with a boldly-brushed design of a tulip with curved stem and dashed stamen. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Excellent color. Provenance: Deaccessioned from the Pfaltzgraff Pottery Archives, York, PA. A wide, approximately 7" crack from rim on reverse. Otherwise excellent condition.
