One-Gallon Stoneware Lidded Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG, PA", circa 1865, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and flared rim, decorated with a brushed stylized flower blossom extending from a leafy stem. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Includes salt-glazed lid. Some fry to decoration. 1 1/2" rim chip. Other minor chips on interior of rim. A minor chip on underside at edge. 2 1/8" loss to lid, two chips to finial of lid, and salt drip to lid.
