Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "W.A. MACQUOID & CO. / POTTERY WORKS / LITTLE 12TH ST, / NEW YORK", circa 1870, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder, applied lug handles, and flared rim, the front decorated with three brushed daffodils extending from a central stem with leaves. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Large spider line to underside. Minor, typical nicks to inner rim, where a lid would rest. A 1 5/8" surface line to shoulder on reverse, not visible on interior. A minor nick to end of one handle. A drip of green paint to reverse.
