Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug, Stamped "C. CROLIUS, / MANUFACTURER, / NEW-YORK", Clarkson Crolius, Manhattan, NY, circa 1825, highly-ovoid jug with squared spout and applied handle, decorated with a stylized cobalt drape-and-tassel design around the shoulder. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Includes antique wooden stopper. Excellent form with a more ovoid body than the Croliuses typically produced. Excellent condition with some small base chips and a minor chip on interior of spout.
