One-Gallon Stoneware Cake Crock with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, Stamped "P. HERRMANN," Baltimore, MD, circa 1875, cylindrical crock with squared rim and applied lug handles, decorated three brushed clover below the rim on front and reverse. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. A few rim chips. Two long, tight surface lines on underside, not visible on interior. In-the-firing darker coloration to clay on reverse.
