Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Leaf Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1870, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, squared rim, and applied tab handles, decorated on the front and reverse with a series of swags and upswept leaves. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals, along with a curved line of cobalt extending from terminal to terminal. A hairline extending several inches on underside and a short distance onto base. A glazed-over handle chip and post-firing handle chip.
