Very Rare Four-Gallon Stoneware Churn with Cobalt Floral Decoration and 1860 Date, Rockingham County, VA origin, semi-ovoid form with pronounced flaring collar, decorated on one side with the brushed cobalt date "1860" and on the reverse with two horizontal tulips joined at the stem. Brushed "4" under one handle. A scarce form from this region. Churn was in two pieces and reglued, with amateur restoration to this damage. An additional restored crack at base. Amateur restoration to one entire handle.
