Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to Henry Harrison Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1830, ovoid jar with footed base, heavily-tooled shoulder, and semi-rounded rim, decorated on the front and reverse with a brushed garland bearing clovers. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals and freehand vining underneath each handle. 2 1/4" rim chip and a small, shallow rim chip. Small in-the-firing chip to end of one handle. A 1" in-the-firing chip to body. 1 3/4" chipped area to base along with a smaller base chip. A 3 1/2" in-the-firing line at base, emanating from a small stone ping.
