Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "POTTERY WORKS / LITTLE WST 12TH ST. NY," William Macquoid, New York, New York, circa 1870, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder, applied lug handles, and heavily-flared rim, decorated with a brushed flower with fan-shaped blossom. Shoulder with impressed "2" with overlying script cobalt "2". Very nice condition with only minor flaws, including the following. A tiny nick to one handle. A small chip and minor to inner rim, which would hold a lid. A small base chip. A small iron ping near base on reverse. Some mottling to clay on reverse. Minor traces of gold paint to rim.
