Scarce One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Crock, Stamped "T.G. BOONE & SONS, POTTERS. / NAVY ST BROOKLYN," New York City origin, circa 1845, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and flared rim designed to hold a lid, the front decorated with a brushed stylized foliate design. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Wear to handles, a small in-the-firing rim chip, a small post-firing rim chip, and a few rim nicks. A 3 7/8" stained vertical line from base on reverse, not visible on interior. Whitish residue on interior.
