Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "A.E. SMITH & SONS, / MANUFACTURERS, / 38 Peck Slip, N.Y.," circa 1860, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and flared rim, decorated with a large brushed tulip. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. A short faint hairline to rim area. Two fairly inucuous base chips. A minor chip on interior of rim and a few minor nicks to inner rim, where a lid would rest.
