Fine Glazed Redware Jar with Profuse Manganese Decoration, Connecticut or possibly Huntington, Long Island, New York origin, second quarter 19th century, ovoid jar with footed base, flared rim, and large applied lug handles, heavily-decorated with a series of brushed manganese daubs around the body. Excellent decoration. Light surface wear. A chip to interior and exterior of rim. Other light wear to rim. A small handle chip. Some smooth, minor base chips, probably in-the-making. A small stone ping to shoulder. An old drip of black paint to handle / shoulder area. H 10 1/2".
