Large-Sized Salt-Glazed Stoneware Pitcher with Iron-Dipped Surface, English, 19th century, approximately three-to-four-gallon ovoid pitcher with footed base, heavily-tooled shoulder and applied strap handle. Upper portion of pitcher dipped in a reddish-brown iron-oxide slip. A finely-potted example of the English style copied in American during the early 19th century. 4" and 1 3/4" cracks in spout. Glazed-over base chip. Small post-firing base chip. 1" shallow chip to side of handle. H 16".
