Glazed Redware Spaniel Bank with Applied Coleslaw Fur, attributed to George Wagner, Carbon County, PA, circa 1860, molded figure of a seated spaniel with carved coin slot in back, decorated with applied clay "coleslaw" fur to head and tail, further accented with an incised muzzle and feet and impressed details to eyes and locket. Surface decorated with streaks of green and brown and covered in a clear lead glaze. Chip to snout. Two relatively minor, shallow base chips. Typical light wear to coleslaw on tail. Typical minor wear to coleslaw on head. H 6 1/4".
