Two Small-Sized Stoneware Jars with Cobalt Decoration, Pennsylvania origin, circa 1875, a quart-sized cylindrical jar with brushed cobalt leaves, attributed to the Remmey Pottery, Philadelphia, PA, paired with a cylindrical jar with freehand stripe decoration and incised "X" on underside, Western PA origin. Remmey jar broken into two pieces with significant amateur restoration. Stripe-decorated jar is out-of-round, with Y-shaped crack on underside, continuing 3 1/2" up side of jar, and a few in-the-firing contact marks to front. H (of stripe-decorated jar) 7 5/8".
