Very Rare Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Artistic Incised Floral Decoration, Stamped "G. BRAYTON," Utica, NY origin, circa 1827-1832, highly ovoid jug with rounded spout, decorated with an artistic incised vine bearing three types of flower blossoms and scallop-edged leaves. Excellent detail to blossoms. Cobalt highlights throughout. A rare Utica, NY mark with particularly fine incised work. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, purchased in New York State approximately twenty years ago. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with some minor glazed-over roughness to spout and some minor in-the-firing nicks to base.
