Exceptional Four-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "J.B. PFALTZGRAFF / YORK, PA," circa 1855-1880, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, flattened rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a boldly-brushed design of three tulips extending from a central stem. Outstanding decoration and color. Excellent condition with two small chips to one handle and a small chip to opposite handle.
