Scarce Glazed Redware Hanging Flowerpot, Stamped "JOHN W. BELL / Waynesboro, Pa.," circa 1880, molded flowerpot with flared rim and raised foliate decoration, the exterior surface decorated with sponged manganese and covered in a heavy lead glaze. Three original holes at rim allow for hanging. Original drain hole in underside. Impressed with John W. Bell maker's mark on interior. Desirable form with strong color. Excellent condition with a rim chip and typical light wear to underside. H 3 3/4" ; Diameter 9 3/4".
