Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jars, Mid-Atlantic origin, second half 19th century, a one-gallon cylindrical jar with swag decoration, Baltimore, MD origin; paired with a one-and-a-half-gallon ovoid jar with hanging floral decoration and original lid with swag decoration, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1880. Baltimore jar in excellent, essentially as-made condition with minor base wear. Remmey jar in excellent condition with a minor base chip. Lid with loss to knob, an edge chip, and shallow chipping to flange on underside of lid.
