Very Fine One-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to the Remmey Pottery, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1865, ovoid pitcher with footed base and tooled collar, decorated with three large tulips extending up the front, interspersed with swags. Heavy swag decoration to collar. A wonderfully-decorated example with particularly strong color. An in-the-firing contact mark to right side of front, which is partially colored blue. 1 1/8" chip to interior of rim. A few minor lines to foot. In-the-firing 3/4" contact mark to reverse.
