Stoneware Jar with Incised Foliate Decoration, attributed to John Remmey III, Manhattan, NY, early 19th century, approximately three-quart to one-gallon jar with heavily-tooled shoulder and semi-squared rim, decorated on the front and back with an incised and cobalt-highlighted foliate design featuring fanned leaves. Good form and decoration. Several small base chips. Two glazed-over iron pings on side of jar, measuring 1" and 1/2". Some light wear to rim.
