Fine Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "F. STETZENMEYER & G. GOETZMAN / ROCHESTER. NY," circa 1850, ovoid jug with semi-squared spout, decorated with an artistic slip-trailed design of a flowering plant with heavily-striped blossom and shaded petals and leaves. Slip-trailed "2" above. Crisp decoration. Superb color. Excellent condition with a tight hairline where handle joins spout, a tight hairline in middle of handle, and a 3" stain to reverse. (Handle is not reattached.)
