Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Reclining Dog Decoration, attributed to Brady & Ryan, Ellenville, NY, circa 1885, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a dog with turned head, curled tail, and spotted body, reclining atop a detailed hill flanked by shrubs. A desirable New York State design. Filled 1" chip on interior of rim. Some fry to cobalt. Glazed-over, horizontal line at base on reverse, not visible on the interior and presumably in-the-firing.
