Fine One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Ocher Tulip Decoration, Stamped "L. NORTON & SON," Bennington, VT origin, circa 1833-1841, ovoid jug with semi-rounded spout, decorated with a finely-brushed design of a large open-blossomed brown ocher tulip extending from a leafy stem. Excellent size. Some tight meandering lines to side and reverse at base. A faint 1 1/2" surface line in spout to right of handle on reverse.
