Scarce Three-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Tree Decoration, Stamped "A.K. BALLARD / BURLINGTON, VT.," circa 1870. cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a tree flanked by shrubs. Significant professional restoration to cracks throughout crock, including touch-up to cobalt at base. Restoration to rim and one handle. Small handle chip.
