Scarce Six-Gallon Stoneware Advertising Crock with Cobalt Bird-on-Stump Decoration, Stamped "SNYDER BRO'S / WARWICK, N.Y.," Poughkeepsie, NY origin, circa 1870, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a large slip-trailed design of a fan-tailed bird perched on a stump. Some light water glass staining to surface. Some minor chips to bottom edge. Circular group of in-the-firing chips on underside. 6" faint Y-shaped surface line on reverse. 2 1/4" hairline from rim on side of crock. Small chip on interior of rim.
