Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Flowering Urn Decoration, Stamped "J. & E. NORTON / BENNINGTON, VT.," circa 1855, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a large slip-trailed design of flowers, leaves, and dotted trails, extending from an open-handled urn with pedestal base. One handle with large loss and reglued section. Flaking to base on reverse. Streaks of water glass staining to surface. Water glass staining to interior. Salt drip on reverse.
