Glazed Redware Pitcher with Profuse Manganese Decoration, probably Pennsylvania origin, 19th century, ovoid pitcher with footed base, flared collar, and ribbed strap handle, decorated with over the entire body with heavy manganese sponging and covered in a clear lead glaze. Chips and wear to spout and rim, including a 1 1/2" rim chip on reverse. Base chips. Some wear to surface, including a 3/4" flake to front. Crack extending across underside and 4" up side of pitcher. Chips and wear to handle. H 8 3/4".
