Rare Six-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Large Cobalt Flying Eagle and Banner Decoration, Stamped "WEST TROY N.Y. / POTTERY," circa 1875, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a large slip-trailed design of a flying eagle holding a spotted banner in its beak. Some light exfoliation to reverse and faint "scaling" to surface on reverse and sides. Several tight hairlines, the largest measuring 6". Rim chips. A chip to each handle.
