Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, American, 19th century, a one-gallon cylindrical jar with brushed swag decoration, stamped "P. HERRMANN," Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1875; paired with a one-gallon jar with brushed wreath decoration, attributed to the Nathan Clark Pottery, Athens, NY, circa 1830. Herrmann jar with two rim chips and a 1 1/8" shallow base flake. Clark jar with large contact mark on front, 2" hairline from rim, a hairline in handle, an in-the-firing 1 1/2" chip on side of jar, and some minor wear to base and interior of rim.
