Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Foilate Decoration, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1870, approximately three-quart, ovoid jar with footed base, tooled shoulder, and tall collar, decorated with a series of brushed cobalt leaves and dashes around the shoulder. Excellent color. Y-shaped crack at base, continuing onto underside where it forms a second Y. Glazed-over base chip. Additional minor base chip. Tiny nick on interior of rim.
