Unusual Stoneware Spittoon with Cobalt Floral Decoration and Coggled Edges, possibly Huntingdon County, PA, third quarter 19th century, with concaves sides, footed base, and carved opening at shoulder, the base and rim accented with the two rows of coggling. Circumference of spittoon decorated with five folky cobalt tulips brushed over slip-coated clay. Opening at shoulder surrounded by cobalt dashes. Excellent condition with two very tiny nicks to opening at shoulder. H 3 3/4" ; Diameter 6 3/4".
