Two Pieces of Northeastern U.S. Stoneware, circa 1875, a two-gallon cylindrical jar with cobalt foliate decoration, stamped "E & L P NORTON / BENNINGTON VT," paired with a one-gallon cylindrical jug with cobalt floral decoration, stamped "WHITES UTICA". Norton jar with one restored handle, chips to underside, wear to inner rim for lid, and an approximately 4 1/2" group of surface lines on one side. Whites Utica jug with staining, traces of paint to surface, some wear to cobalt, exfoliation to underside, some exfoliation to surface, in-the-firing crazing to shoulder, and a small spout chip.
