One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "W. ROBERTS. / BINGHAMTON NY," circa 1870, cylindrical jug with rounded spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird with long tail, perched on a stylized branch. Restored handle. Tight 1 1/2" line to left side of jug at shoulder. Some fry to cobalt. Minor base chip. Small flake to underside at edge.
