Three-Gallon Stoneware Churn with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Midwestern origin, third quarter 19th century, semi-ovoid churn with tooled shoulder, rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed cobalt tulip plant with curled leaves. Shoulder with cobalt script "3" underscored by dashes. Excellent condition. A tiny nick to end of one handle. A tiny nick to bottom edge of rim. Wear to inner ledge where a lid would rest. Some dryness to cobalt.
