Fine One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "E. & L.P. NORTON / BENNINGTON, VT.," circa 1870, cylindrical jar with rounded shouder, applied lug handles, and flared, rounded rim, the front decorated with a slip-trailed cobalt floral design accented with dotted trails. An unusually-elaborate design for a Norton jar of this size. Excellent color. Excellent condition with nicks to interior of rim and nicks to inner rim for lid.
