Scarce Three-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "ADAM GREEN / NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ," circa 1875, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird with long tail, perched on leaf. Large filled and colored crack to left of bird decoration, which extends onto underside and includes a 5" long reglued piece on underside. This crack also extends 2" onto base on reverse.
