Rare Three-Gallon Stoneware Apple Juice Cooler, Inscribed "E.E. Horton's / Apple Juice / Newark, N.J.," attributed to the Fulper Pottery, Flemington, NJ, late 19th or early 20th century, Bristol-slip-glazed, cylindrical jug with squared spout, open strap handles, and circular bung hole, decorated on both sides with the slip-trailed cobalt inscription "E.E. Horton's / Applied Juice / Newark, N.J.". Excellent form, rare and interesting inscription, and unusual double-sided advertising. A fine example of Fulper advertising stoneware. Crack at middle of one handle, along with a thinner crack near the lower handle terminal, which does extend entirely through handle. Shallow chip to end of lower handle terminal of opposite handle. A shallow 7/8" chip to bung hole and a few other minor nicks to bung hole. 1 3/4" minor, vertical glaze line on side of jug near base.
